New Draft Out: Ambitious Alpha v2
TL;DR: It's still an alpha, but there's been some serious updates to Silver, Anchors, Ferocity, and Making a Werewolf.
Ambitious Alpha v2
Silver
My original concept was that Silver was a stat that increased as the werewolf was exposed to silver items and weapons and limited the wolf’s ability to regenerate and restore their protection. But I’d like to spend a round playtests toying with a different way of tracking silver that uses the Liminal Horror game tech that already exists rather than adding a fluctuating stat. Since I’m already adding the ever-changing Ferocity as a stat, and I’m experimenting with "Silvered" as a tag (like Deprivation) rather than a score. There's also an update to clearing the Silvered condition. There's also new options for Silver Magic.
Moon Phase & Ferocity
I’m still a fan of tying HP to Ferocity, but wanted to simplify how Ferocity is calculated, tying it exclusively to Moon Phase (with no reference to a werewolf's Lunar phase).
Ferocity affects the Hybrid forms HP and (in this test) Armor. When the Moon has risen, Ferocity also affects a werewolf's HP, Damage, and Encumbrance but makes CTRL saves more difficult.
Form & HP
Form, True Form, and (when in Hybrid form or when the Moon is in the Sky) Ferocity are the only factors influencing HP.
Other Changes:
- Anchors: Notes on changing anchors, more details on Worry (previously "Yearning") and Heartbreak
- Regeneration: Number of times a wolf can regenerate Wounds or ability loss without taking Fatigue, how Silvered affects regeneration
- Frenzy & Haze: Clarifications on how these work and relate to the Silvered tag.
- Silver Marks: A special kind of flesh wound that cannot be regenerated and heals like a Major Wound
I've also clarified the starting relationship between Hierarchy and Free packs in Lunaris, given a sprinkling of extra lore about the two factions, and fixed some typos in that portion of the book.
Next Up
More details on Lunaris town, including write-ups of helpful folks in the city, extra NPCs the facilitator can use, and an improved Doom Clock.
