Haunting of Cliff Cove
A downloadable Print & Play RPG Kit
A Summer of Murder!
Funded in 2024, The Haunting of Cliff Cove is a one-shot-friendly game that brings together Forged in the Dark. Saturday-morning mysteries from Hanna-Barbera, and late-night movies from Dario Argento.
Those meddling kids and their sidekick dreamed of spending the summer touring with your bandmates but ended up back in their boring old hometown of Cliff Cove. While the summer started with college classes and part-time jobs, it's shaping up to be anything but normal: missing friends, mysterious corpses, grisly crimes, demon-possessed animatronics, and a regular gig playing Cliff Cove's hottest venue, The Cauldron.
The microzine pack comes with play info and character sheets for Cliff Cove's Meddling Kids, a group of bandmates who got together at Cliff Cove Community College and are spending their summers working odd jobs and playing gigs around town.
The Meddling Kids may have formed a band this summer, but they're still surrounded by mysteries, murders, and strange entities from beyond. Between day jobs and regular gigs at The Cauldron, they've got work to do keeping the whole town safe.
Most players at your table will be Meddling Kids and the print-and-play Meddling Kid book has everything they need: a character sheet and action rules for tag-based FitD play, inspired by R. Rook Studio's My Chivalric Bromance.
There's also playbooks for the bandmates' one Sidekick, those helpful pets, friendly aliens, or other weird entities who help the Meddling Kids. They have a unique set of rules and use a different, simpler set of die rolls from the Kids, so they're a great option for friends who like zany, low-crunch character options.
There's also a playbook for The Minivan, the vehicle the Meddling Kids and Sidekick use to stash gear and bond with their bandmates.
For the Keepers, there's a 4-page intro to the game and the town of Cliff Cove, a 10-page Keeper guide, and two gory mysteries: The Pizza Parlor of Count Dracutron and Nerds & Black Leather (a tribute to Bava's Blood and Black Lace and Bianchi's Strip Nude for Your Killer).
Written by R. Rook Studio's Richard Ruane with art from Bill Roundy, layout from Ray Olsen, and editing from Sean Foer.
